Some 230 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and their families turned out for the Annual General Meeting, Barbeque and Rain Gutter Regatta (RGR)  held at St George's school on Thursday 20th June.

A short break in the almost continuous rain gave us a rain free Rain Gutter Regatta where Fred Daniel Ford won the Beaver Boat Race and Yan Munzi beat all comers to take the Fastest Cub Boat prize. Shani Hendersen  got the prize for the best looking Beaver boat and Lucy Baxter had the best looking Cub boat.

The RGR was run by the Explorer section guided by their illustrious leaders.

During the AGM, recognition in the form of a Benelux & Scandininvian District Mugs and Shields were given to Clare Dunn who was standing down as Scout Troop leader, to Neil Skinner standing down as Cub Leader and to Chris Garratt, standing down as Group Scout Leader. Clare is planning to continue to help the Scouttroop on an occasional basis through the SAS, Neil will continue as assistant Group Scout Leader and Chris will support the group as Webmaster and Badge Secretary.

The Exec committee, led by John Ford, was re-elected for a further year.

The group has grown to over 200 scouts and leaders and the bank balance to over €120,000….   hopefully to soon be used to buy our own HQ building.
