Who Cares Wins – The SAS in Luxembourg

Ever thought about joining the SAS but never dared? Well, now you can join the SAS if you care.
The Scout Active Support (SAS) — previously known as the Scout Fellowship — has played an important role in the Scout Association for over 30 years as a way for adults to actively support scouting without the fuller commitment of becoming a Leader.

Telstar now has it's own Scout Active Support Unit and anyone interested is warmly invited to join.

What is ‘active support’? Well, it's offering that extra pair of hands. It's stepping forward to help with an event behind the scenes or on the day itself. We often need help in support of scout events eg. transport, cooking, erecting tents, manning stalls at fund raising events etc. It's maybe brushing off some long-forgotten skills and imparting them to a new generation. It could be making use of your knowledge and talents, away from the workplace or other areas of your life, and sharing them with young people. It's all about enthusiasm for scouting and volunteering in a flexible way that suits you while helping others.

Scout Active Support welcomes anyone over 18. There is no need to have been a Scout or Guide in the past — although former Leaders and Members are more than welcome — all that is required is a willingness to give scouting some of your time. In return, you will make friends, have fun, maybe get wet from time to time, but be an invaluable support to a leading youth movement in the community.

Have fun! smiley
