Team
Telstar is run entirely by volunteers — parents and friends who give their time to create brilliant experiences for young people. Every leader is trained, safeguarding-checked, and genuinely passionate about what they do.
Our team of Leaders, Assistant Leaders and Sectional Assistants plan and deliver the Scouting programme to our young members. All wear uniform but leaders also undertake extensive training covering all aspects of dealing with young people, programme planning, first aid, scouting skills, child protection etc. Only leaders may take responsibility for running scout meetings and events.
All Leaders, Assistant Leaders and Sectional Assistants form the Telstar Scout Council (Leaders meeting), which meets at least four times a year to decide on all scouting issues and to plan camps, expeditions, sleepovers etc. Anyone interested to become a Leader or a Helper should contact the Group Scout Leader via the Contact Page.

No Scouting experience needed — just energy, reliability, and a willingness to learn. We provide full training covering programme planning, first aid, outdoor skills, and child safeguarding.
Volunteering with Telstar is a brilliant way to be part of your child's adventure, meet other parents, and pick up skills you'll use well beyond Scouting.
