Attending camps is the epitome of scouting.

It is both an enjoyable experience and a learning experience in one. 

Your child learns new skills, meets new people and will have the opportunity to become more self-sufficient and confident as they progress through the different sections. There are two main types: Telstar organised camps (attendance expected) and other international camps (optional).

Telstar organised camps 

Normally at least two major camps each year: one in autumn and one in spring. In addition, your section may offer further weekend camps throughout the year. 

These camps are fully organised and managed by Telstar, and it is recommended for your child to attend these as they cover the core part of the scouting programme.

Other international camps 

Scouts and Explorers can also participate in international camps and jamborees organised by different scouting organisations around the world. These are great experiences that are often very popular and in high demand. 

Information about these events will be shared via OSM emails, so please always pay attention to deadlines, as these camps often sell out fast and require registration at least half a year ahead. For these camps, participants are responsible for registering themselves and arranging their own travel. The only exception is if Telstar leaders create a Telstar contingent, which will be managed locally.
